There are only two requirements in order to qualify for protection under Specialty Life's Critical Illness Plan:

Coverage amount
The Critical Illness Plan offers coverage from $5,000 up to $50,000.
Rates
Rates are dependent only on age, gender, and smoking status. Your health condition or health history has no effect on your premiums.
New applicants are rated in 5-year bands beginning at age 30. At the end of every 5-year band, premiums for the insured are reviewable and may increase. We guarantee, however, that any adjusted premiums will be less than a new applicant would pay at the same age.
Policy exclusions
The benefit will not be paid under the following circumstances:

If the insured dies within 30 days of diagnosis.

The benefit will not be paid for any pre-existing condition.

In the first 2-years only, the benefit will not be paid if the illness is caused by a pre-existing condition.

If diagnosed with cancer in first 90 days, the benefit will not be paid for this condition.

Suicide or any intentionally self-inflicted injury.

Declared or undeclared war, terrorism, riot, insurrection, service in the armed forces of any country or government or international organization.

A complication of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection.

Committing or attempting to commit a criminal offense, or while in prison.

The misuse of medication, the abuse of drugs/intoxicants, or from having a blood alcohol level of 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood.
